Professors! Your top students are invited to compete for presentation of their work at the annual PBR Winter Forum (formerly known as the Biosciences Retreat), which will focus on academic research. This year the retreat will be held Feb. 18-19 at the Jackson Center/HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. The Friday morning oral presentations (12 min. each) will be open to both undergraduate and graduate student researchers. Oral presentations are followed by a poster session featuring additional submissions. Both venues will allow your students to showcase their research skills and hone their presentation styles.
We ask you to encourage your students to submit abstracts of their work no later than Jan. 31st. Nine submissions will be selected for oral presentation during the Friday morning program. Other submissions will be eligible for the poster session. As an added incentive for your students, oral presenters will receive prizes and have their research profiled on the PBR website; prizes will also be awarded for outstanding research posters. Abstracts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format to abstracts@alpbr.org by Jan. 31st. Presenters will be notified of their selection for either a talk or a poster by Feb. 5th.
